Take a glimpse of 5 of the world’s leading ballet companies, Royal Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, Australian Ballet, National Ballet of Canada and San Fancisco Ballet LIVE.
I missed the Bolshoi (oh, I really really want to see my Goddess ballerina, Svetlana Zakharova), but I was just in time to catch the Royal Ballet. If you just realise this big event, don’t worry, you’ve still got National Ballet of Canada and San Fancisco Ballet to watch for the rest of your day! But still not to worry if you miss it the whole day today, you’ll be able to catch it up because it will be uploaded in the next 2 or 3 days.
I still remembered the day I woke up in the morning just to stare at my iPad and watch Royal Ballet Live on Youtube in 2012. I was still in England.
I’ve never known a country that loves to host events just to bring people altogether and have fun. Only in the UK!!! And that’s why I LOVE LOVE the UK so much!!!

Youth Arts in Action mentors Maria Sascha Khan and Nadia Khan are both professional, classical, ballet dancers in Europe. Born and raised in rural Montana, USA they understand the importance of giving back. On the go, between their busy rehearsing schedules and performances, they are able to catch a moment with these Inspiring Artists. Maria Sascha had the opportunity to interview Svetlana directly after their performance together in “La Bayadere”. As you can see from the video, Svetlana has only just changed out of her costume and Maria Sascha has not even had the chance yet. “Svetlana is an absolutely beautiful person inside and out. It was an honor to not only perform with but interview her. As she states the arts (namely ballet) are her life and her love of them runs deep in her soul.”
Some of the Bolshoi Ballet Academy students had questions for the Prima Ballerina as well. Josephine Cheung a graduating student from Hong Kong had her question posed to Svetlana in the interview. Make sure and watch to find out not only the answer to Josephine’s question, but what advice Svetlana has to give!

The backstage tour I was mostly excited about was seeing the morning class of Royal Ballet. Guess what? I saw Natalia Osipova in person. She is the guess star of this season, Swan Lake. When she turned around and then straightly looked into my eyes. That’s the moment not only did I see her, she also looked at me. She’s very thin and small. Actually, many ballet dancers had small figures. I saw Natalia Osipoa, Sarah Lamb, Leanne Benjamin, Carlos Accosta, Yuhui Choe, Hikaru Kobayashi and many others.
I knew the ballet class was in the morning, so I booked the first tour of the day at 10:30 am. Awesome! 😀

I love that Royal shiny stuff on the ticket!!! 😉 £82, very expensive for me, but I didn’t have other cheaper choices!
And I actually wanted to watch other ballets, but now this season was Swan Lake, so…yep! I’m still very excited though! 😀

I had tears in my eyes when she talked about her injury that almost stopped her from dancing ballet.
A very beautiful dancer, Joy Womack
